Why two tiers if only one is real?

Honest precommitment. Naming the future paid tier here makes it easier to be transparent later about what we did and did not charge for. If the Lantern tier never opens, this page documents the intent that did not happen. If it does open, the design decisions you see here are the ones we will be held to.
